DESCRIPTION
The house is high-set, close to everything, and enjoys a nice ocean breeze in summer. It is very close to shopping centres and many other facilities. The closest beach is at the end of the street, with barbeque facilities, toilets, etc. Or you can walk around the corner the other way, to another park with BBQ and basketball courts. The house is just a 5 minute walk to a shopping centre with an IGA supermarket, fruit shop, chemist, post office, restaurants, liquor store, etc., and only a five minute drive to Harbour Town Shopping Centre, with its restaurants, movie theatres and so on.
We supply all linen, cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes, etc., along with extras like garbage bags, dishwashing liquid, dishwashing and washing machine powder, ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner, etc. There is also a very high quality cable wireless connection to the internet. |

Warner Bros. Movie World

Sea World

Dreamworld
Dreamworld is Ying's favourite theme Park, and she takes tour groups to all the parks as a Tour Guide. It is 15.6 km from the house, a 17 min. drive. Wet'n'Wild Water World

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

The Closest beach
The closest beach is at the end of the same street, Central Street, just 2.7 km (map). Click photo to left to see the area in more detail. You will find barbeque facilites and toilets there too. Please scroll down almost to bottom of page for map and distance to Surfers Paradise.
Golf, buses, shopping centres, cinemas and theme parks
In case you play golf, this house is close to the Parkwood International Golf Course,a three minute drive (map). They have Australia's biggest mini golf course "Boulders & Badlands", open 7 days a week and until 9pm nightly.

You have a choice of many shopping centres close by.
The closest to the house is Parkwood Central Plaza, just 400 metres away, or one minute by car (map).
Harbour Town Shopping Centre is just 4.1 kms away - your closest large shopping centre by car. It has Woolworths, an Asian Grocery Store (map), a great fruit market, Dimmeys, clothes stores, restaurants, Reading Cinemas (our favourites), banks, post office, and many other shops (map).
Australia Fair has K-Mart, Coles, Woolworths, Birch Carroll & Coyle Cinemas, and many other stores (map).
Westfield Shopping Centre has K-Mart, Target, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, and many other stores (map).

Seafood
This map shows the way to Charis Seafoods. At 1.30 pm each day they feed the pelicans and there is a seawater pool to swim in, a small beach and a park. This is fun for children, and the food is good.
Another seafood take away is the Harbour Seafood Market (map), just across from Harbour Town Shopping Centre.
A great favorite with locals is Peter's Fish Market (map), near SeaWorld. |

The Green and the Gold.
The Gold Coast is often called "The Green and the Gold" because there are mountains and rain forests that run alongside the beach, just a short drive away.
Popular attractions there include

Canungra (map)
South Stradbroke Island
Looking for a big golden beach with practically nobody around?
Just a short distance from Southport is South Stradbroke Island, and you may take a Broadwater boat taxi (map) or a Ferry (map) to that location.
Surfers Paradise at night
Aside from the restaurants, there are some fun activities in Surfers Paradise at night.
There is a place called "Infinity" in Surfers Paradise open until 10pm
There are some rides in Surfers too, open at night.
Surfers is becoming rowdier late at night, so we usually leave it by 10 p.m. or so. |

Currumbin Aboriginal Day/ Night Group Tour
Aboriginal Tours is between 3pm and 6pm (map).
The tour starts with a cuddle with friendly koalas (Souvenir photo included), followed by a live Aboriginal dance show, and hand feeding “free-range” kangaroos. Feed the wild lorikeets which have been an institution on the Gold Coast for the past 67 years before heading to the Sanctuary Café Deck for your traditional Aussie BBQ Buffet. Your journey finishes with an Aboriginal Ochre Ceremony and a farewell Dance performance. See more photos here.
There are also the Glow Worm tours that take you up to the mountains at night time, and down into the natural bridge cave to view the glow worms.
This is very popular and a number of different companies operate such tours.

Of course the oldest most popular spot is the Surfers Paradise beach itself (map). Caution: council parking officers will speedily fine you for forgetting to feed their money hungry parking meters. There is private parking available, as in this carpark.
