Stand ten or twelve feet away from the monitor and you will notice the dots above disappear, and the images look smooth.  When you view a magazine from about twenty inches, the same process occurs.  These examples are single color, two color, three color and full (four) color.

Roy Liechtenstein exemplified the world of halftone printing in paintings like his 1963 'Whaam!'  Liechtenstein was fascinated with the idea of, and technology employed in, printing common comics.  By magnifying halftone prints on large canvases Liechtenstein made the characteristics of halftone printing famous to a world outside of printing.
